The Big 1-5

On this day fifteen years ago, I was facing the eve of the most exciting event in my life. I was about to embark on one of the greatest adventures known to man — marriage.

There was a strange mix of excitement, nervousness, and stress that night as I went through the wedding rehearsal and dinner afterwards. People joked about getting cold feet or having doubts, but I never had them. I can’t explain it, but I knew it was right.

Fifteen years later, I can still say it was right. I am abundantly blessed to have this amazing man in my life. There’s no one else with whom I would rather share my journey. Through the ups and the downs, he’s been my best friend and source of support. I don’t know that I believe in “soul mates”, but if they exist, Gary is certainly mine.

As we get ready to celebrate 15 fabulous years, I am especially thankful for the relationship God has given us. He has protected our union and remained in the center of our lives the entire time. I think that’s the secret of our success.

In some ways, it’s hard to believe that so much time has gone by since we stood in front of our friends and family to say our wedding vows. The time has passed so quickly. I guess the saying is true, “Time flies when you’re having fun.”
