It’s a Wrap

SNL Logo 2008 - 1

We wrapped Saturday Night Life tonight. It’s strange. The week flew by so quickly that I’m having trouble believing it’s really over. A big part of me is happy (I get my life back), but there’s an equally large part of me that is sad to see it go away. After I finished my last sketch tonight, I snuck onto the balcony to watch the remaining bits of the show. I felt an enormous sense of pride at what we were able to accomplish together. The performances were top notch, but the most fun part was sitting back and watching the audience reaction — the laughter, knee slapping, cheers, and applause were priceless. I love it, makes me wish we could do a few more performances…maybe next year. 😉

We had an amazing cast and crew for this show. It was an honor to work with such a talented group of people. I enjoyed getting to know them better and sharing the experience together. I think each one of us will be taking home some great memories: Miquell breaking up during the sketches, Roxbury guys sneaking into chick chat, Jason wearing his wifebeater, Chris and Jami doing the “Sweet Hulk” sketch, Kaitlyn screaming in Rick’s ear, celebrity Jeopardy, the church lady, Spartans, Creekwood — the list goes on and on.

I’ll be posting pictures as soon as I get them from our photographer. For those who missed the show (you know who you are <wink>), the DVD will be available soon.

We have a few months until we begin work on our next show, so I’m planning to take a nice little break now. Auditions for the 2009 season begin in January. We’ll do SNL again in the Fall. I can’t wait!

SNL was truly a great performance. I hope Rick was wearing ear plugs–Kaitlyn truly has tremendous lungs and volume! Not only did I laugh until I cried; but, as you said, watching the audience reaction was so much fun. Looking forward to the next performances.

Haha…thanks! No, he wasn’t wearing earplugs — I hope his hearing will return to normal soon. 🙂
