It’s Started

The countdown has begun, and I’m starting to get very excited about our upcoming ski trip.  Snow-filled mountains, groomed ski runs, shopping, and massages, those are just a few of the things I’m looking forward to while in Breckenridge.  Ah, it’s been way too long!

Since it’s been a few years since our last ski adventure, it dawned on me yesterday that my ski apparel might be outdated.  I went online to check out the latest fashions, and that fact was confirmed.  So, we went up to Doug & Lynda’s Ski Shop in McKinney today to do some shopping.  Of course, the first jacket I fell in love with was an $800 Spyder jacket.  Somehow, I can always find the most expensive thing in the store — it’s a curse.

Anyway, it’s tough to justify $800 on a jacket since we don’t go skiing that often, so after trying on other jackets that didn’t excite me, I found another rack of Spyder jackets in the back of the store.  They were 50% off.  *does a happy dance*  That brought the price down to a more reasonable amount, and I think it was fate because I found an awesome jacket in a size 2 (which is rare).  I am now the lucky owner of that jacket.  I also updated my ski pants since they don’t even sell the kind that I used to wear anymore (don’t want to be a stuck in the 90s “what not to wear” on the ski slopes). 

Now all we have to do is get the skis tuned, pick up a few accessories, and then we’ll be ready to go.
