Put it on Edge

There’s a saying we use when wakeboarding, “put it on edge and getcha some.” The “some” is referring to “getting some air”, and that’s exactly what we tried to do today when we hit the lake.

The water conditions were far from perfect. By the time we got on the lake, the wind had increased. It was coming from the Northeast, a direction from which it’s tough to find good shelter for wakeboarding.

Nevertheless, we were undeterred in our mission to get back on the water. I was first up today since Gary rode last night. It was exciting, but a little scary. It reminds me of when I go snow skiing; I always wonder if I’ll remember how to do it. Fortunately, it’s like riding a bike. The basics come back immediately.

Unfortunately, the harder stuff (like the jumps and grabs) will take a bit more time for me to master again. By the end of the day, though, I was starting to get the jumps back.

If you’ve never wakeboarded, you have to try it. It’s so much fun –getting air is the best…love, love, love it!

At the Harbor House for dinner — we used to spend every weekend here

The Harbor House is a unique little floating restaurant in the middle of the marina. You drive your boat into a slip, step out and grab something to eat. When you’re finished, you hop back in the boat and get back out on the water. It’s great!

Sorry…no wakeboarding pictures today.

It’s tough to take pictures and drive at the same time! 🙂
