I Love Lunch

It’s a sad day for Texas and the military. I’ll never understand why some people think it’s a good idea to walk into a building and start shooting at innocent people. Never. It makes no sense at all. This man has received way too much publicity already for his heinous act, so I’m not going to further promote his cowardice. However, I will say that my prayers go out to the friends and families of those involved. May God’s peace and comfort rain down on them during this time of grief and confusion.

On a lighter note, Improv Anywhere has staged another spontaneous musical. This time it happened during lunch at the Trump Tower atrium in New York City. Check it out.

And for more info about how they did it, read the Improv Everywhere blog.

Grocery Store Musical

The guys and gals from Improv Everywhere are at it again. This time, they staged the improv action in a grocery store as a follow-up to their popular “food court musical.” It’s pretty funny. Check it out:

For more information on how they pulled it off and enlisted the help of Scott Brown & Anthony King (authors of the hit Off-Broadway musical, Gutenberg!) as songwriters, visit the Improv Everywhere blog.

No Pants?

The guys and gals at Improv Everywhere are at it again. On Saturday, January 10th nearly 2,500 people took off their pants on subways in 22 cities around the world. In New York’s 8th Annual No Pants! Subway Ride, they convinced more than 1,200 people to participate.

Riders were divided up and dispatched to 4 separate train lines. The high was 30 degrees and there was a nice steady stream of snow.

They put about 300 people on each train, with individual cars growing stop by stop with pantless riders. The mission worked by using two separate trains for each line. On the first train at every stop new people would stand up, remove their pants, and leave the train. People on the second train then saw pantless subway riders waiting on the platform and entering their car at each stop.

All of the train lines eventually converged on Union Square at the end of the mission, which meant that within a short stretch of time 1,200 pantless people passed through the station’s exit turnstiles.

Welcome Home

The guys and gals of Improv Everywhere are at it again.  This time they decided to personally welcome home total strangers at JFK airport. Grabbing first and last names from car driver signs, they greeted strangers with personalized posters, flowers, balloons, and a 10-foot wide banner reading, “Welcome Back.”

It’s cute…check it out.
