Our annual Night of Worship (NOW) concert is Saturday, April 5 at 6:00 pm. So, the theme for this week is “practice”. It’s our opportunity to make final tweaks and get all of the words memorized (yeah, I’m still working on that).
In addition to practicing 2 hours on Tuesday, we will be meeting on Friday and Saturday to get ready for the performance. Gary’s also attending an extra musician’s practice tonight. Even though it’s lots of work, it’s worth the effort.
ALC NOW will be a great evening of worship, so put it on your calendar and try to attend. I promise you will enjoy.
Anyway, tonight is my one “free” night for the next few days, so I am using it to work on the script for Pirates of Patmos. Casting starts on Monday, and I haven’t finished the script yet (uh oh!). Time to get to work.
Wish me luck in finishing it by Monday!

The Valentine’s Day fun continued tonight with a party for the young married’s group at ALC. This year it was hosted by the Rigdons, which was great because we could relax and have fun. Normally, we’re throwing the parties, and we have to worry about our hosting duties. Tonight was a nice break from that.
Dinner was catered from Posados (Tex Mex restaurant), and the tables were decorated beautifully by our lovely host. Lights were dimmed during dinner to create that special Valentine’s day mood; although, I don’t think we properly appreciated the effect. We were too busy chatting about Derrick’s new live video streaming experiment on MySpace. Maybe one day I’ll actually get to see him instead of the blue offline screen.
After dinner, we moved on to the party games. The Rigdons came up with the first game. It was really cute. The guys had to put their noses through a curtain and the gals had to guess which nose belonged to their husband.
The main event for the night was the “No So Newlywed” game. It was hilarious. We had two groups competing to enter the “finals”. The couples who took first and second place in each round advanced to the next game. Chad and Amy, Nancy and Josh, Chris and Ben, and Darren and Rachel (the real newlyweds) made it to the finals. And, Josh (Nancy’s hulk) swept her off her feet for some mid-game entertainment.
And the winners were…Chad and Amy…congrats!
